2012 March Madness Tournament Contests

2012-march-madness-bracket-contests

Updated April 3, 2012 -

The NCAA Tournament is now over. The contests will be closed until next year. Please come back next year as I will have this page updated again by the time Selection Sunday rolls around.

Kentucky won the Championship game. They were the favorite from the start and didn't receive many challenges during the NCAA tournament.

I sponsored a free bracket tournament with prizes last year on an ESPN account and I have done so again here. I received a total of 173 players and a total of 316 brackets submitted.

I had two prizes for the two best brackets in this contest. Our winners were jarrett33459 with a total of 1720 points and in the 100.00% percentile. Behind him was Sflint04 at 1560 points and 99.7% of all ESPN brackets. Honorable mentions are third place mikeyd771 (only 10 points behind 2nd) and Gilbyg2779 (who would have won back-to-back years if Kansas had won).

I have sent a message to both winners. Sorry that I didn't stay up last night after the game (I fell asleep before Kansas made a mini-run to make things a little interesting again).

By the way, did you know that you can watch all of the NCAA tournament games online? You can watch any game online either at CBS sports or at NCAA.com

The start of the main NCAA tournament on Thursday, March 15 at 12:15 ET tipoff. Most of the March Madness contests will close between 9:00AM ET and 12:00PM ET. After that, I will label the individual contest "CLOSED" and the remaining non-bracket contests "OPEN". The march madness bracket contests rarely ever included the First 4 games in any contest.

You can also find a full size 2012 NCAA tournament bracket to print out here along with the bracket results for the past 5 years. Would you like to find out information on just about any previous March Madness brackets? Check out Bracketscience.com's Bracket Master.

Free March Madness Contests

These free bracket contests will usually have some prizes. However, there will be millions of entries for most of these contests. If you just want to play in the bracket tournaments and don't care about winning money, check out any of these contests and play for fun.

You can often find small office pools offered in the Chat Rooms or Message Boards at some of the larger sports websites. This will usually include a small fee to place an entry along with one or more cash prizes. You can also check out the Office Pool or Pay Contests section.

I hope to add more of these small bracket pools like the ones below. There is usually a $5 to $20 entry fee per bracket and there are usually between 1 to 5 winners depending on how many people pay for a bracket.

If you are having a hard time finding one of these kind of small office pool tournaments, you can always check the chat boards on ESPN, Yahoo and so on. People will be posting on these chat boards with invitations for NCAA tournament bracket pools.
